HYDERABAD: An enquiry has been ordered into the alienation of lands in favour of influential persons by IAS officer Naveen Mittal when he was Hyderabad collector during 2008-10. Chief Commissioner Land Administration (CCLA) Minnie Mathew has been designated as the enquiry officer.Speaking to Express, Mathew said the enquiry will begin when she gets the relevant documents and files from various departments. There was no timeframe for submitting the report. “But I will do it as early as possible,” she said.Matthew said she would, along with the revenue secretary and the collector of Hyderabad, examine all files pertaining to the issue.A report submitted to the government by the present collector said that Mittal allegedly alienated land worth of Rs 2,030 crore to influential persons when he was in the post. The main allegation against Mittal is that he mutated lands (allowed change of land use) and then alienated them to some individuals against the rules.Mathew, who is special chief secretary for general administration department, said she was likely to take charge on Friday from principal secretary (revenue) Asutosh Mishra who is holding full additional charge of the post.Principal secretary (GAD-Accommodation) JC Sharma has been given full additional charge of the post held by Mathew till now. Special chief secretary J Satyanarayana, who had served as the CCLA earlier, has recently been deputed to the central services.
