From all indications, the President's speech on Thursday will focus on the comfortable eight per cent growth rate and the high 29 per cent savings rate.

New Delhi: The economy is booming, the Sensex has spiralled to beyond 10,000 and it is this robustness that will find elaborate mention in President APJ Abdul Kalam's inaugural speech at the joint session of the Parliament on Thursday.

Though the President will not literally mention the Sensex and the dizzying heights that it has reached, but the feel-good, India shining factor will figure heavily in the first part of his speech.

From all indications, he will focus on the comfortable eight per cent growth rate, the very high 29 per cent savings rate and the phenomenally good investment climate.

CNN-IBN has learnt that the rosy picture which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh painted at his recent press briefing will also be reflected in the President's budget session speech.

The President will refrain from broaching any politically sensitive issue.

The social sector projects, which the Prime Minister said he was proud of, will also feature in his speech.

So, expect the President to highlight the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Bharat Nirmaan programme.
