New Delhi: BJP leader Uma Bharati on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for retaining Jaiprakash Yadav in his Council Of Ministers despite an arrest warrant being issued against him.
She said the ?honest man? had lost all respect because of his inaction in the matter. "He is honest but powerless,? she claimed.
"Jaiprakash Yadav (Union Minister of State for Water Resources) should not be asked to resign. He should be removed from the Council of Ministers," said Bharati.
She said Yadav is no longer a lawmaker but has turned lawbreaker by helping his arrested brother Vijay Prakash in running away from police custody in Bihar.
Vijay Prakash, the RJD candidate from Jamui, Bihar, had been arrested on charges of carrying a large quantity of liquor and money during polling.
Bharati, who was talking to media persons on her return from Bihar after campaigning for the second phase of polling, claimed the situation in the state had changed in favour of JDU-BJP combine lately.
"There is more anger against RJD particularly after Supreme Court?s recent observation on the state Assembly dissolution and issuance of a warrant against Jaiprakash Yadav," she said.
