THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Pinarayi Vijayan, CPM state secretary and the seventh accused in the SNC Lavalin case, submitted a plea in the CBI court here on Tuesday to split the case into two to facilitate a speedy trial. Pinarayi wanted the case against Klaus Triendl, the sixth accused and SNC Lavalin vice-president and SNC Lavalin, the Canadian company listed as the ninth accused, to be treated as a separate one.In the plea, former Advocate-General M K Damodaran who appeared for Pinarayi, stated that the course of natural justice of his client is getting delayed for non-delivery of the warrants to the sixth accused and the ninth accused.The issue came up while the CBI prosecutor told the court that both the warrants for Klaus Triendl and the SNC Lavalin company are pending with the Canadian Embassy and that it would take at least two more months to deliver.The court asked the CBI to file a report on the status of the warrants when the court considers the case again on July 10.Pinarayi Vijayan, Klaus Triendl and the representative of the SNC Lavalin company did not appear in the court on Tuesday.
