NEYYATTINKARA: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has said that no one needs to be concerned about he being equated with S A Dange by veteran CPM leader V S Achuthanandan. He was responding to reporters’ queries at Perumbazhathoor near here on Sunday on Achuthanandan’s statement that Pinarayi was acting like Dange, former chairman of CPI, at the time of the split of the undivided party in 1964. He, however, refused to answer repeated questions about Achuthanandan’s statement. CPM state secretary said that Neyyatinkara result would be one which would uproot the UDF of its base. Neyyatinkara wont elect a ‘’traitor’’ as its representative to the Assembly, he said. “An MLA has resigned without any reason and he is coming before the electorate seeking another term. How can they choose one who ditched them?,’’ Pinarayi asked after the LDF meeting at Perumbazhathoor for evaluating and coordinating the campaign. This was the second of the 13 area meetings in the constituency to be held in two days starting Sunday. His first meeting was at Araalummood. He also participated in the meetings at Chenkal, Udiyankulangara, Kulathoor and Uchchakkada on Sunday. On Monday, CPM state secretary will attend meetings at Athiyannoor, Nellimood, Neyyatinkara Town, Amaravila, Chengavila, Pazhaya Uchchakkada and Thirupuram. LDF leaders, including C Divakaran, A Neelalohithadasan Nadar, A K Saseendran, Kadannappally Ramachandran, N K Premachandran and V Surendran Pillai will particpate in the various meetings in the constituency. Meanwhile, there was some tension at Plammoottukuda near Udiyankulangara on Sunday over the appearance of some pro-VS posters.
