In a horrific incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, a mute and hearing-impaired minor boy was sodomised and assaulted by relatives with a pen that remained in his body for almost three weeks.
The victim failed to narrate his ordeal to his family and had to endure excruciating pain for weeks.
According to a TOI report, a pen was inserted in the boy’s rectum by his relatives after sodomising him. The crime took place in Agra on February 5, but he was taken to hospital on February 25 only when he was unable to eat or sleep due to discomfort and pain.
The boy had stepped out of his house but came home crying. At first, his parents thought that stray dogs might have chased him but he complained of severe pain in his rectum and stomach later due to which he could neither eat nor sleep.
The boy was then admitted to a private hospital where an ultrasound report revealed the presence of a pen in his rectum. The pen was removed by surgery and the boy is now said to be stable, the publication reported.
An FIR has been registered by the police against 5 accused under relevant sections of IPC, including 377 (sodomy), and under the Pocso Act based on the father’s complaint. As per the victim’s father, the child was allegedly targeted following a land dispute between the boy’s father and his cousins.
This comes just days after a 38-year-old man was arrested on charges of sodomising an eight-year-old boy in Navi Mumbai. The accused was identified as Sanaull Hakim Sheikh, a resident of Masjid Bunder in Mumbai.
An officer of the Khandeshwar police station said a case under relevant sections of the IPC like 377 (unnatural offences) and 506 (2) (criminal intimidation) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) was registered against the accused.
