Uzbekistan now have a 2-1 lead having won the opening singles matches on Friday.
New Delhi: Leander Paes and Sunil Kumar Sipaeya have kept India in the hunt by winning the doubles rubber against Uzbekistan in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group I first round tie in Namangan.
Paes and Sipaeya defeated Farrukh Dustov and Denis Istomin 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3 in five sets.
Uzbekistan now have a 2-1 lead having won the opening singles matches on Friday.
The reverse singles will be played on Sunday and it is still not clear if would Paes play.
Apart from Paes, all others in the current team were making their Cup debut.
