ANANTHAPUR: There seems to be no end to the reserves of cash, gold, silver and other valuables inside Yajurveda Mandir, the personal chambers of the late Sathya Sai Baba. The district authorities, who continued their searches on Tuesday, found Rs 36.85 lakh cash, 1.579 kg gold and 1,161 kg silver. The networth of the valuables unearthed since the searches began on Monday is estimated to be around Rs 15.19 crore.Besides, a silver throne, gold and silver umbrellas, gold and silver ‘padukuas’ and a diamond-studded bracelet were also reportedly found in the Sai Kulwant Hall.District Collector V Durga Das told reporters that a suitcase containing Rs 25 lakh was found in the Purnachandra Auditorium. Officials also said that in the place, a cellar was filled with sand. “All the gold and silver are in the form of ornaments. These valuable articles were found in various covers that were there inside the room. Searches were conducted in the presence of the Sathya Sai Central Trust members,” Durga Das said. The searches resumed at 11 am in the auditorium and continued till late into the night.
