One drowns as boat capsizes

A labourer drowned and 34 others swam to safety after a boat capsized in flood water in a village under Ismailpur police station area in Bihar's Bhagalpur district on Sunday, police said.

The made boat with 35 construction labourers on board lost control and capsized in the flood water of the swollen river Ganga near Laxmipur village.

A labourer, identified as Khagesh Yadav drowned and the rest swam to safety.

The labourers, all natives of Laxmipur village, were on way to Navgachhia town for work, police said.
