CHIDAMBARAM/CHENNAI: In an early morning swoop, DVAC sleuths simultaneously raided 11 premises of former minister, M R K Panneerselvam, and his relatives in Chennai, Nagapattinam and Cuddalore districts on Tuesday.According to DSP R Ambigapathy, who led the team that raided the house in Panneerselvam’s native Muttam, documents pointing to alleged appropriation of wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income were seized. Among the premises raided were the educational institutions run by him — MRK Institute of Technology, MRK Polytechnic, MRK College of Arts and Science College, Chandravadanam Nursing College, and Chandravadanam Teacher Training School in Cuddalore district. “We examined a bank locker of his relative,” said a DVAC officer. Other houses that came under the DVAC scanner were that of Panneerselvam’s elder sister, Mangayarkarasi, younger sister, Manimegalai, and another younger sister, Manjula, in Nagapattinam district.
