KOCHI: Launching new services may not be a big problem under government sector, but maintaining them, especially toilets, certainly is. Most of the toilets in the state offices and schools can be found stinking. To ensure the maintenance of the e-toilets set up in government schools as part of Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS), P Rajeeve MP has announced an award for the best maintained e-toilet, a District Education Department official said.The best maintained e-toilet will get a prize of `50,001 on the reopening day. The award will be given at the ‘Pravesanolsavam’ celebrations,” he said.As part of the scheme which comes under ‘Hygiene@School,’ 35 schools in the district are to have this facility.
