Normalcy has returned to the Rajnagar city in Rajsamand district after Sunday's violence and arson between two communities prompting the administration to promulgate prohibitory orders, a senior police official said.

Markets were opened this morning, and public movement resumed on usual mode, Rajsamand, SP, Rahul Kotoki said. However, the prohibitory orders under section 144 of CRPC were in action to ensure better law and order and avert any untoward incident, Kotoki said.

The violence broke out in Rajnagar city yon Sunday with mobs setting afire several vehicles and vandalising shops during clashes between members of two communities, prompting the authorities to clamp prohibitory orders.

The trouble started when two minors allegedly opened fire at a tailor shop over some old enmity in which the tailor's two sons escaped unhurt on June 15. Two motorbikes, a roadside outlet, and a car were set ablaze and a marble shop on highway was damaged by members of another community apparently in retaliation to the firing in Dhani-Chabutra area of Rajnagar.
