A patient’s kin created a ruckus at the JP hospital on Monday after the patient was not provided with a bed. Mamta, resident of Kailash Nagar, came to the hospital along with her husband, Surendra, as she was suffering from dehydration. However, the nurse on duty, Ambika, asked the patient to lie down on a bench due to shortage of beds in the ward. Meanwhile, Surendra started arguing with Ambika for providing a bed to his wife. He even brought other relatives and created a ruckus. Ambika ran away with another nurse and locked themselves in a room. Later, they were rescued by the other hospital staff. The nurse later filed a complaint at the Habibganj police station.
Jabalpur: RDVV sought explanation from five girls for ill-treatment
The disciplinary committee of Rani Durgavati Vishwa Vidyalaya (RDVV) has initiated action against some women students after after some other women complained of being ill-treated by them. Both the groups live in the same hostel. The committee has sought explanation from the five girls. However, the disciplinary committee head said that it is not a case of ragging. The girls are pursuing master’s degree courses and ragging in session period is not possible, added the head. RDVV vice-chancellor said that the incident took place on 23 June over some trivial issue.
Bhind: Collector suspends 16 invigilators for missing duty
Sixteen invigilators were suspended for remaining absent on duty during high school and higher secondary supplementary examinations. Collector M Sibi Chakravarthy has suspended these invigilators with immediate effect. The incident came to light when Additional Collector P K Srivastava carried out a surprise inspection and found that 16 invigilators were absent. The invigilators are Akram Khan, Vinay Kumar, Geeta Soni, Kuldeep Sharma, Suresh Singh Shakya, Abhishek Tripathi, Rajesh Kumar Kambra, Prem Singh Jatav, Rajveer Singh, Zakeel Khan, Rekha Goyal, Indu Ahriwar, Geeta Shakya, Nirmala Shakya, Sanjay Kumar Ojha, and Rituraj Jamhauria.
Mandideep: Body of fifth boy found from Betwa river
The body of Swapnil Tiwari, who along with four others drowned in Betwa river, was recovered by the police on Tuesday. The body was seen floating behind a beer factory near Rasulia village. The divers after much effort recovered the body from the over-flowing river. Body of four others were recovered on Sunday.
Indore: Doctors issued show-cause for remaining absent from duties
Three doctors were issued show-cause notices due to their absence from the duty. The joint director health and the deputy director on Tuesday went for an inspection at the primary health care centres of the district. In Singrauli, three doctors namely Dr Kalpana Khamb, Dr Pragati Gupta, and Dr S C Solanki were absent during their duty hours. Two other health workers were also issued show-cause notice in Burhanpur. The officials said that these checks will continue to ensure proper progress in medical facilities.
