Naxals attack police station in Orissa

Gajapati (Orissa): Naxalites attacked a police station and adjoining Orissa State Armed Police camp at R Udayagiri in Gajapati district on Friday morning.

In the exchange of fire between the Naxals and the police personnel, a few casualties were reported among the policemen, Superintendent of Police, Gajapati, A N Sinha, said.

About 40 prisoners are also reported to have escaped the local jail which also came under attack.

Senior police officials have rushed to the spot with reinforcements.
