With the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam now casting a shadow over the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, its chief Mohan Bhagwat sent a senior functionary to the chief minister's house, early Saturday morning.
The RSS chief also had telephonic discussions with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the latest developments.
Sources say that the recent media reports have left Bhagwat irked and angry.
Reports also claimed that senior RSS functionary and Madhya Pradesh in-charge Suresh Soni was summoned by Bhagwat at Sangh headquarters in Nagpur on Saturday.
Soni was in Nagpur to participate in a function but refused to comment on his reported meeting with Bhagwat.
Meanwhile, heightening speculation of trouble within the RSS over the MPPEB-scam, VHP’s senior leader Pravin Togadia also refused to comment on the controversy.
Togadia known for his aggressive speeches decided to remain mum even as media persons sought his views on the controversial remarks from Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati on Sai Baba.
As per recent reports, names of several top RSS functionaries have been linked with the scam, including Suresh Soni and late KS Sudarshan.
