London: A sense of magic and excitement was in the air in London's Leicester Square on Sunday as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire made a world premiere.
It's billed as the darkest movie episode yet from J.K Rowling's bestselling book series featuring young wizard Harry Potter.
The movie adaptation from JK Rowling's bestselling, seven-book series features young wizard Harry being tested to the limit in a magic tournament and meeting his nemesis Lord Voldemort in a dramatic climax.
With death, danger and the first blossoming of teenage love at Hogwart?s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the film has been ruled unsuitable for under-12s to watch unless unaccompanied by an adult.
This is the first of the Potter films to get such a rating.
Thousands of fans, including pop star Madonna and daughter Lourdes, descended on central London for the world premiere of, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
The three teenagers who play central characters Harry, Hermione and Ron in the films also attended.
It's the fourth instalment of the hugely successful film adaptations, and young actress Emma Watson aka Hermione is sure it won't disappoint.
Emma Watson saying, "I don't feel particularly worried about this one. I think people are going to like it, I really hope they do."
As for Daniel Radcliffe who plays the film's star, he has some ideas for his character that might not be so popular with his fans.
Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harrry says, "I think it would sort of be interesting if the only way Voldemort could be killed is if Harry was killed as well."
Goblet is estimated to have cost between $130 and $170 million, a lot of money by any standards but it looks set to be a sound investment for its producers, Warner Brothers.
The first three Potter movies earned around $2.5 billion at the box office.
