Meet the Two UP Girls Who Scored 499 Out of 500 Marks in CBSE Class 10 Exam
Nandini Garg from Shamli and Rimjhim Agarwal from Bijnor have made the state proud. The second place was also bagged by a UP boy, Akshat Verma from Muzaffarnagar, who scored 498 marks.

Lucknow: The announcement of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Results became cause for celebration in the homes of two Uttar Pradesh girls, who scored 499 out of 500 marks each and were among the four toppers.

Nandini Garg from Shamli and Rimjhim Agarwal from Bijnor have made the state proud. The second place was also bagged by a UP boy, Akshat Verma from Muzaffarnagar, who scored 498 marks.

This year, four students have secured first rank with 499 marks each.

Nandini Garg, who hails from Shamli, is a student of Scottish International School while the other topper Rimjhim Agarwal, hailing from Bijnor, is a student of RP Public School. Akshat Verma is a student of SD Public School.

The parents of Nandini Garg, speaking to News18, said, “We are speechless at the moment. Our daughter’s dream was to make Shamli and entire nation proud. She gave 5 hours a day to studies on an average. It is only her hard work that has paid off. She has always been focused and never ever took any coaching classes. Apart from studies she is also good in dancing, painting and sports. ”

This year, the pass percentage of CBSE class 10 results was 86.70 percent. The total pass percentage of girls was at 88.67 percent while that of boys was 85.32 percent.

The CBSE Class 10 board examination was conducted 4,453 centres, between 5 March and 4 April, in which a total of 28.24 lakh students had registered to appear.

A total of 131,493 students crossed the 90% mark, while 27,476 scored more than 95%, out of more than 16 lakh who had appeared for the CBSE Class 10 exams, 2018.​
