BANGALORE: A 24-year-old employee in a hotel was murdered by miscreants in Hanumanthanagar police station limits.Reportedly, the miscreants dropped a boulder on Manjunath (24), a native of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district. He was an employee in Mathru Sagar Hotel located in Hanumanthanagar.According to the police, Manjunath stayed in the residential place provided by the hotel management to its staff. On Sunday night, he slept outside the room, due to bed bugs in his room. Late in the night, some miscreants threw a boulder on his head and fled away. One of his colleagues who came to his room later noticed Manjunath bleeding and he took the latter to Victoria Hospital.But Manjunath succumbed to injuries in the hospital, the police said.The police have suspected that old rivalry could be be reason behind the murder.Hanumanthanagar police have registered a murder case and are investigating.Rowdy sheeter murderedIn a murder incident reported on Kodathi-Huskur Road, a rowdy sheeter was hacked to death by miscreants in Vartur police station limits on Monday afternoon.The deceased has been identified as Begur Anil (32), a resident of Begur.He was a close associate of notorious rowdy JCB Narayana.Anil was a rowdy sheeter in Electronics City and Sarjapur police stations and was an accused in a double murder case reported in Hebbagodi police station limits in 2005. Currently, he was into granite business.According to the police, one of Anil’s relatives in Kodathi had passed away in the morning and he was going to pay last respects in his vehicle.Midway, he was waylaid by a gang of miscreants who attacked Anil with lethal weapons and killed him on the spot before fleeing the scene, the police said.The police have suspected that his opponent gang members have killed him over an old rivalry.The south-east division DCP Dr P S Harsha and other police officers visited spot. Vartur police have registered a murder case and further investigations are on.
