KOCHI: Former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair on Monday sought more time to file a reply to the Centre’s statement regarding the Antrix-Devas deal. The Centre had submitted before the Ernakulam Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) that there had been serious administrative and procedural lapses in the Antrix-Devas deal. The Ernakulam Bench of the CAT granted time to Madhavan Nair to file a reply. Nair had approached the CAT seeking to quash the Centre’s decision to bar him from holding any government jobs. Counsel for Central Government T P M Ibrahim Khan on Monday submitted that the petition was not maintainable and the Tribunal Act provides for trial by tribunals of disputes and complaints in connection with recruitment and conditions of service of persons holding public posts only. Madhavan Nair had sought a directive to quash chapter 6 of the report of the high-level team constituted by the government to examine the facts and circumstances of the agreement between Antrix Corporation Ltd and Devas Multimedia Private Ltd in the controversial S-band deal.
