Lucknow: A turn out of 62.62 per cent of voters was recorded on Thursday in the 11 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh figuring in the second phase, which will decide the fate of 150 candidates.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha, the polling, which was peaceful and held under tight security recorded a turnout of approximate 62.62 per cent.

He said that Nagina constituency witnessed 64.80 per cent polling while Moradabad 67.38 per cent and Rampur 61.03 per cent polling each.

Sambhal recorded 61.03 per cent polling, Amroha 67.85 per cent, Badaun 59.4 per cent, Aonla 60.4 per cent, Bareilly 63.5 per cent, Pilibhit 61.9, Shahjahanpur 58.9 per cent and Kheri 64.41 per cent.

In this phase, polling was held in Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Amroha, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Nagina, Aonla and Kheri.

Maneka Gandhi, Santosh Gangwar, Saleem Sherwani and Begum Noor Bano are among the prominent candidates who are in the fray from UP in the second phase.
