Veteran industrialist, champion innovator of the cement industry and chairman-emeritus of the Sanmar Group, K S Narayanan, passed away at the age of 93, here on Friday, following a brief illness. Narayanan is survived by two sons.
A great sports enthusiast, Narayanan was instrumental in taking cement major India Cements to great heights during his stint as its managing director and promoter.
However, his expertise was not restricted to the cement industry, as he branched out into avenues as diverse as pharmaceuticals, rubber, sugar and plastics.
