Bhopal: A day after Sanjay Joshi resigned as the general secretary of BJP after a CD of his sexual escapades was revealed, he has complained to Madhya Pradesh police that he is being blackmailed.
"I have received a letter from Joshi stating that someone was trying to blackmail him with the CD. The matter is being inquired into," State Director General of Police Swaraj Puri said.
"At present I am coordinating it myself. No formal investigation has been launched and the future course of action will be decided shortly," he added.
In his complaint, Joshi has alleged that he has been receiving phone calls from a blackmailer, making objectionable references about him.
Joshi resigned from the party post on Tuesday following the circulation of a sexually explicit CD among BJP leaders during the National Executive Meet in Mumbai.
