Washington: Singer Jessica Simpson reveals that in her teenage days, she was banned from singing at congregations in the church, as she was considered too sexy to sing Christian music.
She says that when she first tried her luck at a gospel career, all her attempts got derailed, because she was told that her sex appeal made men lust.
"They would never let me sing solos in church, because they said I made the men in the congregation lust!” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Allure magazine.
"I was always criticised for my looks in the Christian world. They said I was too sexy to sing Christian music,” she adds.
The Public Affair star also reveals that her breasts were even bigger when she was a teen, and due to them she felt disabled from achieving what she wanted to do.
"Being judgemental is the absolute worst thing about Christianity, I believe. But I was always so shy about them because I felt they disabled me from achieving what I wanted to do,” she said.
And, it seems that the same impression about Simpson still sticks with Christian groups, as she and her sister Ashlee were recently blasted for using their beauty and bodies to promote their careers.
