BANGALORE: He transformed technology into a fashion statement. Envied or loved, Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Technologies was admired by all, including the top honchos of the technological world. “He was the Micheal Angelo of the modern computing era,” said N R Narayan Murthy, Chairman Emeritus of Infosys Technologies. Speaking to Express, Murthy described Jobs as someone who put a ‘sense of aesthetics to hardware and software’. Lamenting the fact that he was scheduled to meet the late visionary six years ago in 2005 in the United States of America (USA), Murthy said that he could not leave the country as he had other important meetings to attend to. Commenting on his leadership, Murthy said that only an extraordinary person could take apple from its doldrums to one of the most valued technological company in the world. “He exhibited that you don’t need an elite education to be successful”, he added. An Apple Mac user himself, Murthy said that Jobs demise would inspire his team to work harder as a tribute to their great leader.Vineet Nayar, Vice Chairman and CEO, HCL Technologies tweeted “for me Steve Jobs was an idea and not just a person that will live on and on. He was born with an idea. He died with millions saying ‘I have an idea’. His legacy will outlast many lifetimes”.
