Lucknow: Embarrassed to the core by the antics of senior IPS officer D K Panda, the UP police has decided to set up an inquiry against the officer and pave the way for his dismissal from the services.
Panda dresses up as a woman and says he is Radha, the consort of Lord Krishna.
UP DGP Yashpal Singh has been asked to send his report to the state government and it is now a matter of time before the inquiry panel is announced.
According to the DGP, Panda?now posted as IG (Rules and Manuals)?has been known for his queer behaviour in police circles. But the top brass of the UP police did not take cognisance of the matter in the past.
"But after he danced his way through TV channels on Saturday dressed up as a woman and gave interviews in which he addressed himself in feminine gender, we cannot ignore the issue any longer. The police force has become the butt of all jokes because of this," the DGP said.
