On the 15th death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, politicians across party lines offered floral tributes to the departed leader at a prayer meeting at his memorial Vir Bhoomi in Delhi. Gandhi was assassinated by a suicide bomber at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991.

Several union ministers including, Home Minister Shivraj Patil, Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit joined Sonia Gandhi and her children for the prayer meeting.
