At that time, Lord Narayana incarnated as a shadow. It is believed that Sage Bhrigu must have become one with the plant to continue his divine services to the Lord. The plant earned its name as Bhrigu Maharishi Plant. People believe that Sage Bhrigu continues to offer daily prayers and services to the Lord with utmost devotion through this plant.
