Heat wave aggravates, Barmer hottest at 45.1 degree Celsius

Heat wave aggravated on Monday in north-west Rajasthan with mercury touching 45.1 degree Celsius in the hottest Barmer, even as dry weather conditions prevailed across the state.

Mercury has risen one to three degree Celsius at many places as compared to Sunday, and the heat wave conditions further gripped the state, a Met official said.

Meanwhile, Bikaner recorded a maximum of 43 degree C followed by Jodhpur 42.9, Churu 42.8, Jaisalmer 42.7, Kota and Ganganagar 42.3 degree C each, and Jaipur 41 degree C.

No respite from the heat is expected in the next two days in the state, according to a Met office forecast.
