Panjim: A case of of sexual harassment has been registered against Goa minister Churchill Ulemao's nephew Warren Ulemao in the German minor rape case.
A formal complaint was registered in the office of Superitendent of Police (SP), North Goa on Friday.
However, Warren Alemao, the 22-year-old nephew of Goa Public Works Department Minister Churchill Alemao, has denied allegations that he had raped a minor German girl, whose mother had created a storm last week accusing another cabinet minister Atanasio Monserrate's son of raping her daughter.
Talking to the media in Panaji on Thursday evening, with Churchill Alemao in tow, Warren claimed he was innocent and that he was being dragged into the controversy merely because he was related to a political figure.
"I don't even know that girl. I challenge them (the complainants) to prove their point. I am willing to depose before the police rightaway," Warren Alemao clarified.
Earlier, addressing a press conference at a city hotel, Aires Rodrigues, counsel for the German mother, Fadela Fuchs, had claimed that Warren had sexually abused the minor girl.
"I have submitted the information about Warren Alemao along with some of his compromising photographs with the victim, which we have sourced from facebook.com to the police," Rodrigues claimed.
Investigations had hit a roadblock when the minor had refused to record her statement or undergo a medical examination, despite being coaxed by psychiatrists and NGOs.
Goa Police were considering reviewing the case and dropping some of the charges against Goa Education Minister's son Rohit Monserrate.
The 21-year-old Rohit has been booked on charges of raping, outraging the modesty of and abetting a crime.
He is also accused of sending lewd messages to the 14-year-old German girl.
Rohit has been missing since the registration of the complaint and the police have issued a Look Out Notice to ensure that he does not leave the country.
