BHUBANESWAR: A 17-year-old girl, Queen Mantri, died under mysterious circumstances in Satyabhamapur village on the outskirts of the City. The family members of the deceased alleged that the girl, who had married a driver, was murdered for dowry. Police are investigating. The husband has been detained along with his father. Police said Queen, a native of Daringibadi, had fallen in love with Bijay Mohanty (20) while working as a domestic help with a doctor living in Ravi Talkies area of the city. They had married about eight months ago. Preliminary investigation said the Mohanty family had a fight on Saturday evening and Queen was found dead on Sunday. While Bijay and his father maintained that Queen consumed poison, the kin of the girl alleged that she had been murdered. They said they had been looking for the girl for the last six months and an FIR has been lodged with police but to no avail.
