Earthquake of 3.6 Magnitude Jolts Jammu and Kashmir's Doda
Jammu and Kashmir was jolted by an earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter Scale Monday night

An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale hit Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda at 9:17 pm (IST) on Monday night. No injuries have been reported so far.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 04-03-2024, 21:17:27 IST, Lat: 33.04 & Long: 75.83, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: Doda, Jammu and Kashmir,” read a statement by the National Center for Seismology (NCS) on microblogging site X.

Last month, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the Ladakh region near Kargil on February 19.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:5.2, Occurred on 19-02-2024, 21:35:17 IST, Lat: 35.45 & Long: 74.93, Depth: 10 Km ,Location: 148km NW of Kargil, Laddakh, India,” the NCS said in an X post.

Tremors were felt in parts of Jammu and Kashmir on February 16 when an earthquake of 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded in China’s Southern Xinjiang region.

According to the NCS, the tremors were felt at around 9:08 pm and the depth of the quake was recorded at 180 km.

Taking to their official handle on X, the NCS said, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6, Occurred on 16-02-2024, 21:08:35 IST, Lat: 35.69 & Long: 77.40, Depth: 180 Km ,Region: Southern Xinjiang, China.”

An earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded in Kargil on February 3. The depth of the quake was recorded at 10 km.

“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.5, Occurred on 04-02-2024, 14:37:15 IST, Lat: 25.80 & Long: 90.69, Depth: 12 Km , Region: East Garo Hills, Meghalaya,” the NCS said in a statement.
