MYSORE: A 17-year-old youth from Bangalore drowned in Kapila river in Nanjangud, near here, on Sunday morning.The deceased has been identified as Manohar (17), son of Srinivasa Rao, a resident of Kenchenahalli in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bangalore.Srinivasa Rao visited Nanjangud on Saturday night to offer Pooja to Lord Sri Srikanteshwara on Sunday morning.According to the police, Manohar had gone to Kapila river to take a bath before visiting the temple. However, he allegedly lost balance and was washed away by the river. Immediately, his family members informed police about the tragedy. The police rushed to the spot along with fire personnel's rescue team and searched for his body for more than 6 hours. In the evening, the rescue team succeeded in fishing out Manohar's body.The Nanjangud police have registed case of unnatural death and are investigating.
