Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Babu Lal Gaur is at the centre of a new controversy.
It's not just Uma Bharti supporters who are creating problems for him anymore.
BJP party worker Salim Kabir had publicly alleged that Gaur was making advances towards his wife Shagufta Kabir.
The party is now finding it difficult to stand with Gaur after allegations of misconduct were labeled against him.
Babu Lal Gaur's reticence over the allegations labeled by Shagufta Kabir and the party's refusal to take action against the latter is music to the Opposition?s ears.
They are now coaxing Gaur to come out clean.
Minister of school education Gauri Shanker Shejwar said,"How can we say anything when Gaur is not saying anything. Let him first speak out and then we will react."
Even those who stood by him when allegations relating to his personal life came into the public domain seem to have deserted him now.
The Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan led state BJP is now trying to distance itself from the Chief Minister.
Chauhan who was till Tuesday saying that Gaur will remain Madhya Pradesh?s chief minister, is now maintaining a studied silence.
While no one in the party is willing to talk on the issue it was BJP National secretary Rajnath Singh said that a party machinery did exist in the state and that it would look into the matter.
Meanwhile Gaur is hoping that his silence will help the controversy die down.
However his tormenters appear in no mood to let the noose free. It is learnt that Shagufta is being nursed for a future battle.
