BANGALORE: Several BJP legislators led by Excise Minister M P Renukacharya and chief minister’s political secretary B J Puttaswamy on Friday demanded the arrest of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda and his sons former CM H D Kumaraswamy and H D Balakrishne Gowda for allegedly threatening Lokayukta police officers who are probing the charges against them.Addressing a press conference, the BJP legislators even urged the Lokayukta special court, on whose direction the Lokayukta police had taken up investigation against the Gowdas, to take cognizance of the incident and initiate contempt proceedings against them.Gowda is accused of threatening Lokayukta ADGP Jeevan Kumar Gaonkar over phone for interrogating security staff of his son Balakrishne Gowda, while Kumaraswamy is accused of interfering with the CID investigation by calling on CID DIG Shankar Bidari at his residence last week.“Lokayukta court should take suo-motu cognizance and initiate contempt proceedings against the Gowdas,” Puttaswamy said.Renukacharya said that the party would file a complaint with Lok Sabha speaker against Gowda and Kumaraswamy.
