New Delhi: Shweta Bhatt, wife of Gujarat IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt has written a second letter to the Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday. In the letter she has asked for more security for her husband. She had earlier written to Chidambaram on Monday.
The hearing on suspended Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Sanjeev Bhatt's bail application will continue on October 7, a court in Ahmedabad said on Wednesday. The court's order means the IPS officer will have to spend two more nights in jail.
Shweta has expressed fear that false cases might be slapped against Sanjeev Bhatt.
The Gujarat government had on Tuesday challenged a magisterial court's order denying Bhatt's police remand.
The suspended officer was arrested on September 30 for allegedly forcing a Gujarat Police constable, KD Pant, to sign a false affidavit.
The IPS officer has been booked for wrongful restraint and fabricating evidence. Police had raided his residence twice within 24 hours to look for 'false affidavits'.
