An ASI, Prabhakar Panda, attached to Bonai police station in Sundargarh district, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000.
Reports said the ASI was the investigating officer in a case registered under the Odisha (Prevention) of Gambling Act during which complainant Dilip Sahoo’s two two-wheelers were seized. He had allegedly demanded the graft from Sahoo to release the vehicles. He will be produced in the Vigilance court at Sambalpur on Wednesday.
