The issue was brought up in the Maharashtra Assembly some time ago and non conventional energy minister Vinay Kore ordered a probe into the same.

In defence of the allegations Suzlon has said it has helped India to get close to $2 billion dollars in foreign exchange.

Suzlon which was established in 1994 and is the fifth largest wind energy company. Its modern technology is being used in Europe and America and it has helped India to get close to $2 billion dollars in foreign exchange.

Suzlon has helped in countering Maharashtra's power crisis by providing 1352 megawatts of electricity through wind energy. It says some anti-social elements want to malign the image of the company because of vested interests.
