London: Andy Murray advanced to the third round of Wimbledon with a 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Yen-hsun Lu of Taiwan on Wednesday, bringing some order to an otherwise chaotic, injury-filled day at the All England Club.
Murray served 11 aces and had 41 winners against only 14 unforced errors in his second consecutive straight-set victory this week at the All England Club. The second-seeded Murray is trying to become the first British man to win Wimbledon in 77 years.
Murray's victory came not long after his potential quarter-final opponent, sixth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, pulled out of his second-round match with a knee injury. Tsonga was one of seven players to quit, or not start, their matches at Wimbledon because of injuries on Wednesday.
