At least 10 major Kanpur schools received bomb threats through emails on Wednesday creating panic among people.
In recent weeks, different establishments in major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Ahmedabad have received similar emails.
According to reports, police are investigating the matter and have banned the entry of people in the schools.
Multiple schools in both Jaipur and Lucknow on Monday received bomb threats through threatening emails, causing panic among school authorities and students. As a precautionary measure, the schools swiftly evacuated students and staff from the premises.
In Rajasthan’s Jaipur, bomb threats were reported at approximately four schools, while in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar area, at least three schools received similar threats.
This latest string of bomb threats via email adds to a concerning trend across the country. Earlier this month, around 150 schools in the Delhi-NCR region also received similar threats. Moreover, on Sunday, several city hospitals and the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi were targeted with bomb threats.
“Four-five schools have received bomb threat. Police have reached the schools,” said Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph. A team is trying to identify the sender of the threat email, police said.
