PHULBANI: With no breakthrough in the Italian hostage crisis even after eight days, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been sent by the security agencies in and around Daringbadi to track the movement of Maoists and the two hostages, said a top official.The UAV has taken photographs of the area where the Maoists are suspected to be moving along with the hostages. Sources said, this is the first occasion that such a vehicle has been pressed into action in the State for an anti-Maoist operation. The vehicle has been sent by the Centre at the State Government’s request. The intelligence inputs reveal that Maoists are moving in the dense forest areas spread over Daringbadi, Kotagad, Sorada and Adaba areas, but could not confirm anything about the hostages. Sources added that the National Security Guards (NSG) based in Kolkata have completed their spade work which could be used if the situation demands. Meanwhile, after the registration of kidnapping case against Sunil, Manoj alias M. Balakrishna, a Central committee member of Maoists and others, in Daringbadi police station, investigation is on by a Kandhamal DSP.
