This wikiHow teaches you how to record an audio clip of a translation on Google Translate, using an iPhone or iPad. Apple's native voice recorder app Voice Memos automatically pauses when you switch to a different app, but you can download and use a third-party app like Easy Voice Recorder or FastRecorder.

Steps

Download the "Easy Voice Recorder" app from the App Store. The Easy Voice Recorder icon looks like a blue microphone on a white background. You can search the App Store for the app name, and tap GET to install. This is a free, third-party voice recorder app. You can find the Easy Voice Recorder app at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/easy-voice-recorder/id1222784166. Apple's native Voice Memos app automatically pauses recording when you switch out of the app. You can find alternatives like FastRecorder (https://apps.apple.com/eg/app/fastrecorder/id1070536572) and Voice Recorder Pro (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/voice-record-pro-7/id810588885).

Open your mobile internet browser. You can use any browser like Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Opera.

Go to https://translate.google.com. Type or paste the Google Translate URL into the address bar, and press Go on your keyboard.

Make your translation. Select your translation languages on the toolbar, and enter the text you want to translate into the text field at the top.

Open the Easy Voice Recorder app. Press your home button to go to your home screen, and tap the Easy Voice Recorder icon here to open the app. It looks like a blue microphone on a white background. Tap OK when you're prompted to allow the app access to your microphone. You will only have to do this once when you open the app for the first time.

Tap the red-and-white microphone button. This button is at the bottom of your screen. It will start recording all audio.

Go back to your internet browser. Press the home button, and open your browser from the home screen. It will open up to your last translation page. You will see a red banner at the top of your screen, labeled "Easy Voice Recorder." This means the recorder app is recording your audio in the background.

Tap the white speaker Android 7 Volume Up icon below the translated word. This will read out the translation. The translation voice will be recorded in the Easy Voice Recorder app in the background.

Tap the red banner at the top. This will switch you back to the Easy Voice Recorder app.

Tap the blue checkmark Android 7 Done icon on the bottom-right. This will stop your audio recording session, and save the audio clip. You can find, listen, and share your recordings from the Listen tab at the bottom.
