Harvest some wild pumpkins. These can be found in lukewarm areas. After you harvest the pumpkins, make a crafting table if you haven't already.
Extract the seeds. Simply put pumpkins in a crafting table and collect the seeds.
Build a fence. Use fences and a gate to make an enclosure.
Till the soil. Right-click the grass two times holding a rake. The grass will turn into soil. Right-click the soil with saltpeter in your hand to fertilize it. Dig out some soil and replace it with water. This will hydrate the soil.
Plant the seeds. Right-click the soil while holding the seeds to plant them.
Wait. It won't take long for unripe pumpkins to grow, but it takes a little while for the pumpkins to ripen and turn orange.
Harvest the pumpkins. Left-click the orange pumpkins to harvest them. After harvesting you can make more seeds, and keep repeating the process until your heart's content!
