Ten-man Granada emerged from thick fog at Cordoba's Nuevo Arcangel Stadium with a 1-1 draw that sent them through to the last 16 of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
Granada had won the first leg 1-0 and advanced 2-1 on aggregate after defender Diego Mainz struck in the 60th minute to cancel out Florin Andone's fourth-minute goal for Cordoba.
In the night's other tie between topflight sides, Getafe scored twice in the first half to win 2-1 at Eibar and advance 5-1 on aggregate.
Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Espanyol and Levante also went through after winning their round-of-32 ties against lower-division opponents.
A cloud of fog fell on Cordoba's home pitch and greatly hindered both the spectators' and players' ability to follow the action.
Cordoba goalkeeper Mikel Saizar said he didn't see how Mainz put the decisive goal past him, and not even Mainz himself was sure how he had done it.
"It was a free kick, I jumped and the ball was too high, but it hit my back and went in," he said. "I think that is more or less what happened. The high balls were tough to see."
Granada then hung from the 67th after Javi Marquez was sent off for a dangerous tackle.
David Moyes' Sociedad had the most trouble seeing off third-tier Oviedo which arrived in San Sebastian after a 0-0 draw in their first leg.
Iceland striker Alfred Finnbogason made up for several misses by finally scoring his first goals for Sociedad, guiding in Pablo Hervias' pass in the 28th before finishing off a rebound in the 62nd to settle down the home crowd.
Sociedad will next face Villarreal after it had no problems beating Cadiz 3-0 at home, following Manuel Trigueros' spot kick and Gerard Moreno's two goals for a 5-1 win on aggregate.
Getafe right back Carlos Vigaray raced forward to score in the 22nd and Diego Castro added a second goal in the 35th. Eibar's Federico Piovaccari pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 54th.
A smattering of Espanyol fans turned up to see their team eliminate Alaves with a 1-0 victory thanks to Jairo Morilla's 65th-minute goal and a 3-0 victory on aggregate. Espanyol will play Valencia next.
Levante flirted with an early exit but held on to draw 0-0 at home with Albacete, progressing on away goals after their 1-1 first-leg win.
