New Delhi: Deco believes that Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo should claim the Ballon d'Or prize next month.
Chelsea and Portugal midfielder Deco believes his national teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is deserving of the Ballon d'Or next month.
Ronaldo has scooped multiple individual trophies for his goal-scoring exploits last season where he found the net on 42 occasions.
He won the UEFA World Player of the Year, together with the FIFPro World Player of the Year, and is one of the bookies favourites to claim the Golden Ball, too.
Deco is reported to have said: "The award is chosen on what happened last season and last season he played at a very high level."
Should Ronaldo win the prize, he will be the first Portuguese do to so since Luís Figo's victory in 2000.
Deco himself is no stranger to the award, having finished 2nd in 2004, while Ronaldo was last year's runner-up to Kaka.
