Sydney: The Australian football team, the Socceroos, will play friendlies against Brazil and France in the next two months to boost their preparations for the 2014 World Cup.
The Socceroos announced that the match against France will take place at the Parc des Princes in Paris on October 12 after their clash with Brazil in Brasilia on September 8, reports Xinhua.
It will be the fourth time Australia meet the 1998 World Cup winners.
Socceroos coach Holger Osieck says the team needs to play against top-quality international opponents as it has to get challenged at the highest level.
"This will be another great experience for our team and myself, as it gives me a good indication where we stand right now compared to the top countries in the world and what our focus has to be to raise our standard," he told reporters Tuesday.
The match will also be a key hit-out for France only four days before their final World Cup qualifier against Finland.
