Sudhanshu Pandey CONFIRMS Rejoining Band of Boys After 23 Years: ‘Lot of Songs Coming Up’ | Exclusive
Sudhanshu Pandey reveals what made him regroup with A Band Of Boys after 23 years. He also recalls making 'a huge financial mistake' during his previous stint.

After dabbling in modelling, television and films, Sudhanshu Pandey become part of A Band Of Boys. The music band was formed in 2001 with Karan Oberoi, Siddharth Haldipur, Sherrin Varghese and Chintoo Bhosle along with Sudhanshu. However, in 2005, he left the group for financial reasons. What followed was a period of hiatus and then the band regrouped in 2018 with Karan, Sherrin and Chintoo with Danny Fernandes joining them. Siddharth subsequently rejoined them.

And earlier this year, Sudhanshu took to social media to share a video of himself with his band members as they caught up for a special reunion after 23 years. But now it seems like there’s more to the post than what meets the eye. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, the Anupamaa actor makes a big revelation and says, “We’ve finally reunited now. Now that we’re at that stage where we’re comfortable in every possible way, we’ve decided to regroup. And we’re going to come up with a lot of songs.”

Looking back at the time when they had formed A Band Of Boys, he tells us, “That was a time when we were in our early-20s and mid-20s and were trying to find a ground in a city like Bombay. We came from different small towns and middle-class families. And when you come from a middle-class family, you’re brought up a certain way. Neither do you have a back-up worth crores nor a godfather who can hold your hand and give you guidance in terms of what’s right, what’s wrong, what you should do and what you shouldn’t.”

He adds, “So, then, you’ll have to live life based on the experiences you gather. Life has been my biggest teacher. My career had received a kick-start but I jumped into the band without thinking too much. I was a young mind and nobody told me that it maybe it wasn’t the best thing to do at that point in time or that I could do it as a side hustle.”

So, what made him not want to reunite with the band in 2018? “I wanted to make sure that I’m taking good care of my family and making money the way I used to earlier. Actually, this realisation came to me during my three-and-a-half or four years stint with A Band Of Boys when I lost out on so many opportunities. I was acting before that,” remarks Sudhanshu, who marked his acting debut in 2000 with Khiladi 420 alongside Akshay Kumar.

Talking about making ‘a huge mistake in terms of finances’ during his journey with the band, the Meri Neend and Thirchi Nazar hit-maker says, “In a city like Bombay, it wasn’t easy to survive and I had to support myself. We need to be mentally, physically and spiritually strong to be financially stable. I learnt from my mistakes. They were more like lessons. Having said that, every experience was beautiful. I don’t regret anything.”
