Actor Bhumi Pednekar will next be seen in a crime thriller Bhakshak. The film, backed by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment, will stream on Netflix this week. Speaking exclusively with News18 Showsha, Bhumi revealed that she got a call from Shah Rukh as soon as she wrapped up the movie in Lucknow.
“The day we wrapped up the film, I remember I was eating dinner and I was like, ‘oh the film is done.’ There was going to be a get together party and we were in Lucknow and I got a call from Shah Rukh sir and, you know, he’s such a gracious man. He just called me to thank me (for doing the film) and I’m like dude you’re Shah Rukh Khan," Bhumi said.
“Kudos to Red Chillies for supporting this film. They supported this film right away. They saw the material and this is a story we should present by our platform. Kudos to Netflix for taking a film like this," she added. Bhakshak marks Bhumi’s first collaboration with Shah Rukh. Ask her if she hopes to star in a film with him, she said, “It is my biggest manifestation since I was a child. So I really, really hope." She added that she’d like to star in a romantic film with him.

The trailer of Bhakshak dropped last month. Soon after the trailer was released, Shah Rukh Khan gave the film a shoutout on social media. When the film’s director Pulkit thanked him and called it “a dream," Shah Rukh replied, “All the best for the film. It’s such a hard-hitting film!! And the whole cast is outstanding."
Bhakshak releases on Netflix on February 9.
