The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET-UG (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2024 results on June 4, 2024. In this exam, a student from Jamshedpur named Kahkashan Parveen has secured All India Rank 1 with the perfect score of 720/720. As per reports, Kahkashan underwent a difficult childhood due to the ailing condition of her mother. This prompted her to excel in academics and now she wants to become a doctor. Kahkashan said that she initially wanted to become an engineer. Her mother’s health deteriorated when she was very young. She said that her mother couldn’t get good treatment in her home town and they had to take her to Chennai for better medical facilities. This struggle faced by her family in search for better medical options prompted Kahkashan to establish her career as a doctor.

Kahkashan added that her brother is completing his education in Kota in the MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). According to the NEET topper, he was the one who motivated her to prepare for the NEET exam. She said that her dream college is All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Kahkashan revealed that in Jamshedpur, students are not aware of competitive exams like the NEET. According to her, she became aware of the study environment and the competition level in these examinations. She said that she had attempted the NEET exams in 2023 as well after passing the class 12th education but got only 600 marks. She couldn’t get admission to any medical college.

Despite this setback, Kahkashan remained undeterred and started preparing for the NEET 2024. This was one of the biggest opportunities for her and she wanted to make it count, she added. To achieve success in this, she sought the assistance of her faculty and curated a strategy. Kahkashan appreciated the hard work of her teachers and said that they focussed a lot on the topics taught in the classroom.
