Haryana Government Changes School Timings Amid Heatwave Alert

The Haryana government has ordered to revise the school timings, amid the heatwave alert issued in some states. The timings of all the schools in Haryana for the first shift will take place from 7 am to 12 pm. The second shift will start at 12.45 pm. Summer vacation has also been announced in Haryana. They will start compulsorily in all the schools from June 1, according to a press release. All the government and private schools have to follow this decision. It is also noteworthy that a decision has been issued according to the information released by the Meteorological Department. Haryana will be scorched by the heat waves in the next few days. According to the information from the Meteorological Department, along with the heat wave in Haryana, the mercury can go up to 46 degrees Celsius. Weather experts have also issued yellow and orange alerts for different districts. Children are expected to get some relief by changing the school timings in Haryana. Schools in Haryana will remain closed from June 1 to June 30, 2024, for the summer holidays.

All government schools in Delhi were also closed on May 11. At the same time, holidays in private schools are expected to start in May. Along with this, summer vacation has also been announced in most of the schools in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that summer vacations will start in all the schools in UP by May 25, 2024. All the schools will also be closed in the region where voting for the Lok Sabha will take place.

Earlier, an orange alert was issued for Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi by the Met office and emphasised the high health concern for vulnerable people, including infants, elders, and those with chronic diseases. The IMD also said that the conditions will prevail for the next five days in northwest India. The weather office also issued a yellow alert for east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha.
