'Tumhara Masala Khatam Ho Gaya Toh?': Virat Kohli's Hilarious Response to Being in Good Terms With Gautam Gambhir - WATCH
Virat Kohli had a funny response when he talked about him being in good terms with Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq.

Virat Kohli was at his witty and humourous self as the star batter had revealed some interesting thoughts on his famous tussles notably with Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq and the former LSG mentor, Gautam Gambhir.

Kohli was seen speaking to the popular anchor, presenter Gaurav Kapur at an event ahead of RCB’s upcoming clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

He said, “People were very disappointed by my behaviour because I hugged Naveen”. As he said this, the crowds were roaring in excitement at what he had to say. But it was not what the fans were expecting as he further added,”

“That day Gauti Bhai also hugged me. I mean you guys are cribbing because the masala got over?” Kohli asked.

To add some context to this, during the RCB vs LSG fixture in 2023 where Kohli was having a chat with Kyle Mayers which seemed to have angered Gambhir. While the details of the conversations are unknown, the two seemed to go back and forth in a verbal exchange for which both individuals were fined for violating the Code of Conduct.

Prior to the incident in 2023, Gambhir who was leading the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2016 had sparked another tussle with Kohli’s RCB. Frustrated after not being able to get any wickets in the second innings, an angry Gambhir threw the ball at the non-striker’s end when Kohli had already completed the run. Kohli did not appreciate this and the first major incident between the two took place.

However, there has been mutual respect between the two well before these incidents. In 2009, Gambhir who was awarded the Man of the Match award, made the heartful gesture of giving his award to the young Kohli who had scored his first international hundred.

Most recently, Gambhir and Kohli embraced each other following KKR’s win over RCB at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the 2024 season indicating that the two still do share a mutual respect for each other.
